Kara Pylipow – Instructor
Kara Pylipow was born in Crown Point, Indiana and started dancing at the age of three with the Indiana Ballet Theatre NW. She had many lead roles in their ballet productions and traveled to London, England to receive her Imperial Society of Teachers af Dance certification through the Royal Academy of Dance.
Kara also competed as a dance soloist winning many national dance competition titles. Kara continued her studies at Butler University where she received her BFA in Dance Performance in 2010. She also played the viola with the Butler Symphony Orchestra. While at Butler, Kara performed many lead roles in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Copellia, Giselle, Midwinter Dance Festival, George Balanchine’s Serenade, and Anthony Tudor’s Dark Elegies.
After graduation, she moved to Chicago to live her ‘big city’ dream! She was on apprentice with River North Dance Company, scholarship apprentice with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and is a current company member with CS Create with No Limits under the direction of Jeremy Plummer. Kara has had many professional performing opportunities while in Chicago including back up dancing with Beyonce, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, and Gwen Stefani. She is also a featured dancer in New York Times Best Selling book ‘Dancers Among Us” by author/photographer Jordan Matter.
For over the past ten years, Kara has been traveling across the country as a competitive dance judge for Showstopper, teaches ballet and contemporary classes, and is a certified Piltes Instructor on all apparatus. When she is not dancing, she loves spending time with her husband and daughter! She is so excited to share her love and passion for dance to the community around her.
