Academy Policies
Drop Off and Pick Up Guidelines:
All recreational students must enter / exit through the front door. Side door (located on west side of building) is for Company and Team dancers & IDA staff only.
Attendance is important to ensure maximum progress for the student. If you are late to class, please wait at front desk and you will be escorted to class. If you are late to zoom class, wait to be let in from the waiting room. No guaranteed admittance 10 minutes after start time of class.
We do not permit parents, guardians, siblings to wait on dancer during class time inside IDA currently. Stay in car or outside during dancer’s class time. For traffic flow and children’s safety, car lines may not be formed in front of studio doors. Please utilize a parking lot available.
Class and Studio Policies:
Make Up Class: Students can make up 2 classes per semester. All “Make Up” classes must be scheduled 1 week in advance, please email info@indydanceacademy.com to schedule your dancer’s make up class.
Missed Classes: Call in advance to class / workshop to report illness, injury, or personal/family emergency.
We do not reimburse students for dropping from present dance session. If you have a prolonged absence due to illness, emergency, or injury; please email info@indydanceacademy.com and an Administrator will contact you.
Low Enrollment: If class is cancelled due to low enrollment, we will contact you via email, we will reassign a class or workshop for dancer, or you may receive a credit toward a future IDA offering. Credit will be valid for one year from date issued.
IDA is not responsible for personal belongings or dance bags left at Academy.
NO Smoking in or around IDA premises.

Please contact info@indydanceacademy.com if you are not receiving email.
Weather Related Closings:
Weather related closings will follow National weather service for warnings and watches and emergency closings for Marion County. We will have these posted for you on our Facebook page if possible and on our voicemail by 11.00 a.m. for daytime classes & 2:00 p.m. for evening classes. Please check our Facebook page before driving to class.
Class Attire:
Visit our class attire page for all class attire and shoes for each of our classes. To purchase your class attire and shoes, please visit our online store and all purchased items will be conveniently shipped directly to your home. - All dancers must have their hair pulled back in a neat ponytail for class, bun for ballet class.
- Jewelry should not be worn to class.
- Please bring a dance bag to accommodate attire and shoes for class.
Tuition Policies:
Class tuition is required at enrollment.
Indy Dance Academy has a no refund policy for all class registration, membership dues, event fees.
Insufficient Funds: Accounts with insufficient funds will be charged $35.00. These accounts must be paid by cash when paying the balance.
