Ballet Performance Program

Indy Dance Academy Ballet Program (IDAB) is an invite only technique intensive program focused on pre-pointe and pointe technique as well as classical and contemporary variations and repertoire.

Invited dancers ages 10-18, will participate in one 90-minute technique intensive IDAB class as well as two 90-minute Pre-Professional Ballet technique classes throughout the week.

Included in the IDAB class curriculum is a ballet barre and center class, along with 30-minutes dedicated to learning a traditional ballet variation from one of the ballet classics or new works from IDAB instructors to perform at IDA’s Holiday Hoopla, IDA’s Recital and Outreach Performances in the Indianapolis Community.

Eligible dancers ages 10-18 must be invited by Director based off an audition class.

Dancers must be enrolled in 2 Pre-Professional Ballet Technique classes at Indy Dance Academy.

Dancers must commit to the full dance season (Aug- May), make their attendance in their classes and rehearsals a priority and their participation is required at all performances*.

Dancers must respect the process and work hard to progress within the IDAB curriculum and be eager to develop artistry and technical skills.

Upon instructor and director evaluation, dancers will be invited en pointe to advance through the program.

  • Bunheads ‘Stitch Kit’
  • Ribbons and elastic
  • Black leotard
  • Pink tights
  • Red Ballet Alignment Belt
  • A black ballet wrap skirt is optional
